Personal: A Birthday Bash!

...it all started with this.....

and then it spiraled into having thoughts of having a momentous birthday bash for our first born! Thoughts were poured into it where we thought that since it is his first year at school (yes, he enrolled in KG2) so, we said as parents - why not? It would be fun for him....and of course for the mother too! She had very much ideas of everything....(which woman does not?)

So, she contacted a dear friend of hers who then made these:

These are like pieces of heaven....I was munching on them like I canNOT stop...anyway, back to Adam's birthday preparation...

I had also asked the dear friend to print out my design - since Adam loves Cars! She wonderfully printed it & pasted it onto the individual boxes which looks like this:

hence the overall look came to be like this:

~ the pieces of heaven ~

~ the box ~
~ tadaaa! ~
and then the granny contributed in the preparation of the foodies for the kiddies at school!

everything was packed up for the kiddies to enjoy in school...we are halfway there! woohoo!

then the birthday favour bag...designed by yours truly!
had done it the night before the birthday bash & slept at 3am! Thank goodness the pc at home works...otherwise it would have been handwritten (konon kan have that personal touch! but then...i saved myself from embarrassment of my bad handwriting! huhu...)

Anyway, I let you the picture speaks for itself!

yes..my proud moment...these are all made by meself and I! Wanna order from me? hehe...

Anyway - here's also pictures from Adam's day...enjoy!

and of course...Adam's highlights of the day was his prezzie! Thank you friends of Adam!

A bed story...

The story started when spring came...the coil type I mean.. hehe...

You see, once upon a sleep before - we were very happy with our slumber'land' so to speak...

Earning modestly 8 years ago, I was a young woman dreaming of a good bed..financially wise that is...bought a relatively good bed..not too fancy, not too shabby, not too simply..it was just..it...nice...

just nice - isn't it?
It came with a good mattress..both for under B$200.00. A good deal if u ask me at that time..and so, we both lived happily sleepily since..

Then, another chapter in my life opened..three years later...I was sharing the bed with a man..

that's part of our bed back then!
Yeah...our cat, Toby had to have  the top part..he's the 'Master' anyway...

Then we moved to a new house...and..we made the decision to give it a facelift.....we painted it white.....it was a new start for us earlier on as husband and wife..

its in white! :D
...and so...as the story started it was fairly happily sleepily ever after till 'spring' came...a month ago..dearly Hubs found a spring, the coil type....it was under the bed..at last..after 8 years (with many mattress protectors in betweens) our beloved bed was broken..(not in any kinky way at all)..we were sad & in sorrow..

broken! :(
There was no choice but to change the mattress...so the quest for 'the' bed started...went to many, many, many bed stores, tested the many, many, many mattress ...it was tiring and heart wrenching...few definitely were good if not great but economically it was bad... :'(

We were looking for the mattress only cos definitely there is nothing wrong with the bed frame...it was really still in good condition although there were few paint chips here and there...

loving the bed simple details....
It turns out, mattresses are no longer cheap as before...the good ones start off from B$500.00 plus...the ones we found were hard and very unappealing to our backbones....

We thought and thought and more thoughts were put into the mattress buying situation...we went to this particular store in Kiulap...like 8 to 10 times over a period of time...up to the point the salesman knew us by heart! We were making sure we were making the right decision of our life! We finally decided to invest in a very...very...very good mattress...we weighed in the fact that we had used our previous mattress for about 8 years and it did us well...backbone wise that is...we might as well invest in a good new mattress..

So, the decision was made and we got ourselves this:
Believe you us...we love it!!! You get very..very..very addicted to it!
Trust me when I say this...we are gonna be broke for the rest of the year and beyond..but we reasoned that it is a good investment for both of us....

So, we were quite excited but the downside of it is that the beautiful mattress would not fit into our existing bed... :'(

No choice but to start another adventure of bed hunting...hand-in-hand we look through every furniture store in Brunei and at last we found one at Sopan Enterprise that was just 'us'! Something new for us and unqiue..well not to anyone else but to us yes..cos you see...its using leather! Nice details too....plus affordable! Yay!!

loving the sewn in details! :D
So, here's the overall picture of our bed delivered on 18th August 2011! Yes..am SO in to dates! Its 18.08.11! Hehe....

born at Asanty's Residence on 18.08.11!
Well, with this super bed comes with super responsibilities...as seen below:

have to rotate religiously!!
for durability & bla..bla..bla...
Anyway....safe to say...this raya, we are spending it on a bed! haha.....

Hello..its Me! :D

Wow...it has been awhile since I last updated this blog!

I hope I can go back into the swing of blogging again...initially I started blogging mostly about my first born but over time - I just got...well...lazy... (so sue me!) PLUS everyone kept on commenting that FB is the place where everyone is in the 'IN' now...

So, I went to FB and created Asanty Collections which I just love when am on the move & voila! it instantly updates! However, one thing is lacking - I can't put much of my thoughts in it....FB just limits my conversation skills to a mere 400 character? Like seriously? It went well for awhile but just recently when I was browsing through google - found few new blogs (not based in Brunei) and I am immediately smitten then indirectly fell back in love with my ultimate passion (apart from chocolate, of course) which is reading!

So, here I am again and hope you ladies will be entertained!

Anyway, the whole idea for re-starting this blog again is to talk (or in my case, gloat!) about the newly arrived item in Asanty Collections: Monthly Organiser..

Let me walk you down on this:

Basically – you would typically be in love with the gorgeous colours of the prints alone but then, wait!....... it has practical use!

See picture below!

Now – you may want to ask, what the heck is this for? Well, for those of you who are new to Asanty Collections – this is what I call as the Monthly Organizer – you know when at the end of the month, the moment you receive your ‘pay’ you instantly put aside some sum of money to pay the obligated bills! Be it car loan, maid’s salary, school fees, credit cards payments – you name it, you put it aside in this revolutionary way! I used to keep my money aside in unpretty used envelopes, although I heard some of you have step up by using pretty ‘ang pau’ envelopes but then till when can these ‘ang pau’ envelopes withstand the monthly responsibilities? So to speak! Haha…

Anyway, you can get these pretty Monthly Organisers at B$32 each but mind you they are on PRE-ORDER basis…

These babies are born all the way from USA and it takes time for them to reach Asanty’s residence as they are each handmade! Lucky for you, they are mostly instocks (at supplier – NOT at Asanty Collections) so, it omits the waiting time but you still have to factor in the shipping transition time!

With a B$100 bill to show you how big it is!

Oh, for those who are curious! These Monthly organizer can fit up to our B$100 bill which is perfect [P/S don’t ask me if it can fit B$1000 bill, give me a piece (non-refundable) then I give you another review of it!

So, would you like to comment on this? Love to hear what you think of it...

Have fun Gorgeous!
